WINDMILL SAX QUARTET SHEET MUSIC!

If you're looking for something new for your sax quartet to play - beyond the usual string quartet transcriptions and novelty tunes - YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! Like the
Windmill Saxophone Quartet's repertoire, you'll find an eclectic mix of jazz, oldies/rock/pop, and unique original compositions in a wide range of styles, tempos and grooves here - all written and (most) recorded by Windmill.
Most have solo sections for those who can improvise, or optional written-out solos in some cases. All arrangements are available in several versions, with standard sax quartet instrumentation options (AATB or SATB), as well as AATBass and SATBass. Most also have multiple choices for lead and/or solo parts, as well as some without solo sections. If you don't see what you're looking for, just E-mail us - simple instrument substitutions are available for most arrangements. Some are also available in duet form, for any 2 saxes. All parts are professionally printed using Steinberg Cubase VST and, with the exception of improvised solo sections, most are easy-to-moderate Intermediate Level. A fairly straight (for Windmill) arrangement of themes from The Pink Panther/James Bond/Secret Agent/Mission Impossible (no solos, various leads); Intermediate Level (some rhythmically more challenging passages, a section in 5/4 time).

A melodic, meditative ballad - originally recorded by Clayton Englar and Equinox on "Last World" (1 or 2 jazz solos).

Another original ballad by Clayton Englar, written specifically for Windmill; extended, multi-part form with harmonically rich ensemble sections, and a more intense, separate improv. section (1 or 2 jazz solos); can be heard on Windmill's "Live at Twins Jazz".

Dizzy Gillespie's classic, in a multi-layered, fairly challenging arrangement by Clayton Englar - from "This'n'That" (a slightly condensed version of the original, with 1 or 2 jazz solos); Advanced Level.

A bluesy arrangement of the Billie Holiday ballad, from the CD "Very Scary" (1 jazz solo, or none).

Elvis Presley a la Windmill! (1 jazz solo).

A light, bossa-nova style arrangement of the Beatles classic (1 jazz solo); also available as a duet.

A pretty much standard arrangement of the Glen Miller Big Band classic (OK, the intro. and tag at the end are a bit more interesting), including the original solos; Easy/Intermediate Level (a few moderately challenging passages).

The Motown classic, done pretty much as on the original recording (optional jazz solo at end); works well before "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?"; also available as a duet.

Complete Scores, in either concert key or transposed, are available for all arrangements. Do you want to play with other instruments (i.e. piano, bass, guitar)? We also now have Chord Sheets for any arrangement (chord changes, cues, rehearsal letters, etc.), in the same format as the horn parts.
